60 Minutes: June 12

This Sunday, Sarah Abo travels to Paris to meet Kiss.

On 60 Minutes, lucky Sarah Abo headed to Paris to meet rock gods Kiss.

Shining a Light
What has been happening at the Ashley Youth Detention Centre in northern Tasmania is a blight on this country. A shameful part of our recent history that powerful people have either ignored, or worse, tried to cover up. And it’s likely it would have remained a dark secret but for the courage of whistle-blowers. One of them is Alysha, who has made a tough and dangerous decision to shine a light on this disgrace. As Nick McKenzie reports in a joint 60 Minutes, The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald investigation, Alysha is speaking up because she knows no matter the cost or consequence, there is nothing more important than protecting children.

Kiss and Tell
It might be difficult to believe, but American rock band Kiss is now in its 50th year. And to help celebrate the milestone the group invited Sarah Abo to Paris for a taste of their jet-set lifestyle and to show her how they’ve survived and thrived in a notoriously fickle industry. Founding band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, who are now in their 70s, prove age is no barrier to successful showbiz careers, as they apply their over-the-top makeup and don their comic-book costumes to belt out their myriad hits. And for Kiss fans there’s more good news – not only is their music as loud as ever, they’re planning another visit to Australia.

  1. Oh so they’re not repeating the show they had on Thursday night which nobody knew about? They advertise it then pull it then show it at the last minute on a Thursday night with no promo at all. I had thought Sundays show was an encore since most people probably missed it.
