Jackie O quits The Masked Singer
Three of 10's guessing panel are now out of upcoming talent show.

A third member of The Masked Singer guessing panel has quit the show after three years.
Radio host Jackie O posted on Instagram, “It’s been an incredibly tough decision but I’ve decided to step away this year. Filming always coincides with school holidays and after 3 years of missing out I’ve decided to spend my mid year radio break holidaying with my daughter whilst she’s still happy to hang out with her mum. I look forward to watching the show from the couch.”
Her departure folls news Urzila Carlson and Dannii Minogue are not returning, leaving Dave Hughes as the sole remaining panelist.
Meanwhile the Herald Sun speculates that former Bachelor personality and Love Island: AfterParty host Abbie Chatfield would join. 10 indicated, “The Masked Singer is Australia’s biggest guessing game. Who’s behind the mask? Who’s on the panel? All will be revealed very soon, so stay tuned,”
The show produced by Warner Bros. Australia is due to film in coming weeks.

I know they new judges are probably locked in but what if they got Tina arena. She is music royalty in Australia, likeable and a great fit. They should go with a lineup of Tina, delta, Hughesy and tommy little. Get another male on the panel
A risky decision if Abbie is chosen as she is divisive. There would be viewers put off by that and parents not wanting their kids to watch anymore. It would no longer be a family oriented show. It might be better to choose someone universally liked and it would be a plus if they’re also from the music industry. It’ll be seen if such a risk pays off with the ratings.
If Abbie joins there won’t be much of a show once every second word out of her mouth is bleeped out….
Don’t worry guys, a Spice Girl is on their way to save the day.

Dam I want Dave Gone Most because he just doesn’t fit the show and his constant stupid guesses and comments just drag the show on. I hope they bring in some interesting people with some experience.

Disappointed that Jackie O isn’t doing The Masked Singer this year. But I’m glad Hughesy is still there. And I’ll be interested to see who they replace Jackie O, Dannii Minogue and Urzilla Carlson with (maybe they could get people who have done the show – e.g. Julia Morris, Em Rusciano or Gorgi Coghlin).
Like others, out of all judges, I want Dave gone the most. They need a singer or an entertainment reporter for the judging panel. I can’t see Angela Bishop doing this. Haha. What about Mel Tracina?
I wasn’t crazy about Dannii or Jackie O, but I didn’t mind them either. I’m glad that Carlson’s gone, and I’m unhappy that everybody else has left while Hughes remains standing (so to speak). Whoever they cast next, please, no more “comedians”.
The fact that three of them have left at once feels suspect. I can’t help but think that there was something internally that spurred the three to leave. I’ve also been really irate about some of the political rhetoric on the show that is always unwarranted and out of place, and I’m afraid that the show may further devolve into something that I am no longer willing to sit through, and I may just tune in to highlights on YouTube instead.
With audience numbers continuing to shrink, one would think that the industry would exercise more prudent judgement, but I suspect that the upcoming “refresh” of the format will be a stinker. I’ll keep an open mind, but my enthusiasm for the format has almost entirely diminished.
Talk about a sinking ship. Maybe the girls on the show were sick of pretending they cared who was behind the masks.
With a obvious reset of judges you would think this year would be a good year the rest the format as it like most others is becoming tired.
Come back in 2023 or 2024 new host, judging panel and some good celebrities.
The D Grade celebrity pool at Ten would be getting shallow now for contestants.
Sounds harsh but seriously couldn’t hurt to give it a rest to spike interest.
Agree with all comments re Dave Hughes. So glad he hasn’t been on HYBPA this year. He adds nothing to the show and is a ‘won’t watch’ for many viewers. He doesn’t understand the difference between ‘stupid’ and ‘funny’.
She and Danni were perfect for this show. Jackie brought a lot due to interviewing and knowing so many celebs from the radio.
I wonder who they will get now? Maybe Kate Ritchie would be similar to Jackie? I hope the runouts of Abbie chat field are not correct. She could be a masked singer but not a judge.
Struggling to think of celebs that could fill this panel of judges. Kate langroek???
Abbie is a great get for the show. She’s young, into the pop culture / celebrity scene and very entertaining. I don’t mind dave Hughes. The outlandish guesses he makes is all in the fun of the show. As if Beyoncé would be on masked singer but one can dream. If they all had serious guesses it would be a bit boring.
If Abbie Chatfield joins the show as a judge, I will not be watching.
Dave Hughes’ extremely silly guesses is a turn off, and hope he tones it down in the next season.
A shame that Jackie O has left.
Now to just get rid of Hughes and the screaming Osher and I’d watch it.
Urgh this sucks but understandable 🙁 Of all the panelists left though, it has to be Dave Hughes doesn’t it. He’s the one i actually wanted to leave. He’s terrible. If you ask me, Channel 10 should just revamp the whole panel.
