MasterChef judge and Gold Logie nominees has turned her hand to writing a children’s book.
“I was being pushed to write a book. So I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll give you a book. I’ll give you a children’s book!'” she recently told TV Tonight.
“Because why not? Everybody wants me to write a cookbook or a serious book. I’m too young for a Biography.”
Leong, who recently featured in the Pilot Showcase Dinner Guest, explained,”I just thought, I love communicating the joy of food.
“It’s really wonderful watching my god daughter and her brother, for example, falling in love with new foods all the time. So I thought it would be a great way of being able to articulate all the different taste sensations that we have, and to be able to explain that to 8 year olds.
“It’s a writing challenge in and of itself!”
The book is expected to be pubished in September.
