I’m a Celebrity (UK) heading back to Australia

"Back to its spiritual home, back to where it all started," say UK hosts Ant & Dec.

The British original version of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! has confirmed it is returning to Australia for its upcoming season.

For the past two years the show has been confined to Gwrych Castle in Wales, due to the pandemic.

ITV said: “Returning to its home in Australia after a two-year break, our celebrities will leave their plush pads and luxuries far behind as they spend up to three weeks taking on the Australian jungle with a whole host of surprises created for them.”

Ant and Dec will be returning to host the show. The cast is yet to be announced.

“The plan is, we’re going back to Australia, we don’t want to go elsewhere. It’s got to go back to it. Back to its spiritual home, back to where it all started,” Ant said recently.

“Everyone wants to see a bit of sunshine at that time of year on the telly.”

Dec added: “We had two lovely years in Wales, we really enjoyed our time in Wales, but this show has to be in Australia. We have to go back.”

The Australian site at Dungay, New South Wales, subsequently became home to the 10 series hosted by Julia Morris and Dr. Chris Brown -also used by the German production.

10 is rumoured to be returning I’m a Celebrity to Africa, but yet to confirm.

  1. The big question is whether 10 will return it to live.

Rather oddly too along with the return to Australia for the main series ITV are also pre-recording an All Star series in Africa this summer which won’t air till next year.
