"I miss you all already!" says Nigella as Matt Preston assumes judging role for Group 2 instant restaurants.

There’s been some speculation but Nigella Lawson has now confirmed her departure from MKR.
From tonight she is replaced by former MasterChef judge Matt Preston, and it would seem is not returning for finals.
Seven was always coy around the length of her involvement, but it was a good coup while it lasted.
I so loved my time on #MKR! Thank you @manufeildel and all the teams on Group 1 – I miss you all already! The lovely @MattsCravat takes over from me for Group 2 @mykitchenrules and he’ll be fabulous, of course, but I wave goodbye wistfully. Good luck all! pic.twitter.com/fEfXt8e9ji

They had all this advertising on TV and out in public making out that Nigella was the star of the show for this season, only for her to leave so soon. It can be disappointing and off-putting when the advertising doesn’t live up to the show.
I heard a comment when group 1 ended that the winner was ‘fast tracked’ to the Semi’s — does this mean there will be no challenges before another round of at home restaurants?
Wow so glad I did not watch this now!
Imagine being told Nigella Lawson is a judge, only for Matt to turn up instead. How disappointed would you be? I mean nothing against Matt but seriously the chance to meet Nigella?
What proof you have that they were told that? Nigella was great on masterchef and you can tell shes passionate and knowledgeable about food but to me on MKR she came across a bit stiff and disinterested in the people on the show. In the first episode she looked like she was taking over the whole show because Manu is so laid back. Thankyou Manu for keeping the fun side of the show going.
Well she was only ever on MasterChef for a week so it’s not surprising. I would imagine she doesn’t come cheap. But 7 were very sneaky with their promos you got the impression she was on for the whole series. Hopefully it was a one off & she will be back on MasterChef next year. But what a hypocrite Matt Prestoin is. I recall him bagging MKR years ago.
You’d be spewing to be put in group 2.
I love the fact I hear Matt and Greg are coming to MKR we need simple food that everyone think it’s hard to make I remember when you used to get loaded Chips for $4.95 now they are $16.95 so I went down the shop and made 6 helpings for $20 mince and all the herbs but most of my cooking comes from MasterChef and MKR I’ve learnt that don’t go beyond your skills until you get better from all the celebrity chefs doing master classes season sauce and love
Cue the puns
bait and switch
absolutely livered
leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth
viewers have been burnt
Matt is very good on Saturday mornings on ABC radio 774, hardly any food talk, has a lot of knowledge and interests outside food etc
Do we watch MKR or any reality shows nope, just seem too scripted ,too cleverly edited etc for us
I find that odd that they build the “season” around her being the other judge for her not to last…
The great bait and switch. I wonder how this will reflect in ongoing ratings.
Wel, well. It’ll be interesting to see what the ratings do now
What an utter swizz! Glad I wasn’t conned into trying the reboot after all now, despite how much I love both Nigella and Matt. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth not serving a whole course.
