Seven to Blow Up balloon series

Stephen Curry and Becky Lucas to host series in which contestants create unique and mind-blowing balloon artworks.

Seven has picked up a local adaptation of Blow Up, a Dutch format in which contestants create unique and mind-blowing balloon artworks.

The series from Endemol Shine hopes to do for balloons what Lego Masters has done for Lego, along with the family viewing audience.

The Herald Sun Stephen Curry and Becky Lucas will host alongside balloon expert Chris Adamo.

Curry said, “I’m so incredibly excited to be embarking on this bonkers adventure with Becky and these exceptionally talented artists, which is sure to remind me once again of my distinct lack of any discernible skills whatsoever. Rest assured, this is not ‘balloon animals and pirate swords’ – this is full scale, high-art balloon sculpture.”

Rob van der Vleugel, Managing Director EndemolShine Netherlands says: “This format is the ultimate in uplifting, joyful fun and showcases the skills of an untapped community of balloon experts. The set is a mesmerising creation full of balloons, and this show will entertain viewers as they cheer for their favourite artists to win, hoping their vision only pops in a good way.”

Filming will begin in Melbourne in September.

  1. 3* 60 minute eps would be more than enough?? leading into a 60 minute finale

maybe they could combine it with celebrities diving into the pool and have them blow up the ballons as they dive into the water……

  2. At least they’re trying something original that isn’t cooking, singing, dancing or renovating.

I hope this does better for them than Ultimate Tag, Australian Spartain and Plate of Origin…

  3. Sorry but the environmental damage balloons do does not work for me….even when they wind up on the tip….some animal/bird can consume them..
