  1. At first look this much revised Quantum Leap, without its original star Scott Bakula reprising his role (which fans wanted), does look mundane and lacking the necessary charisma that a reboot of this once highly popular show would need, but the NBC receiving initial low ratings does not mean that the show will be removed after only one season, I have had similar low opinions about other US network studio dramas and they lasted several seasons.

  2. I’ve watched it, and while it wasn’t anything to write home about it wasn’t exactly terrible either, of course the first 3 episodes were in the can when they replaced Showrunners Lilien and Wynbrand with Martin Gero (Blindspot). While also bringing in Dean Georgaris (The Brave) as executive producer, so what happens from the point on will be interesting to see, it did come across as a bit like it was CSI: Quantum Leap.

My biggest thought and why I’m jury is out on it is that the original was a two act play with bit players and it’s what gave it it’s charm, where as this one has an ensemble cast with bit players. So I’m not sure that isn’t going to take away a lot of what gave the original it’s charm, as in the back and forth stuff between Sam and Al is what made it, guess time will tell.
