The Block 2023 returning to Hampton?

5 classic brick homes in a suburban street in Melbourne's south rumoured to be next reno site for Nine.

Rumours are running rife on radio and in print that The Block is headed back to Hampton for 2023.

3AW and RealEstate.com.au suggest Micjoy Pty. Ltd. have bought five classic brick houses in Hampton East for $14.3m.

No. 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 Charming St Hampton East were reportedly sold between June 29 and July 1 with blocks ranging from 575sq m to 703sq m.

The location, on a bend in the subrban street, is not far from Bronte Court, Hampton which featured in 2021.

“It will be different because Charming St is a street not a cul-de-sac, so you could probably liken it to the row of houses in Elsternwick on Regent St,” buyers agent Nicole Jacobs told RealEstate.com.au. Jacobs sold her own Hampton house to producers for the 2021 season.

Charming Street is set back from the major interesection of Nepean Highway and South Road, Hampton East.

Scott Cam recently told TV Tonight, he never learned of the show’s next plans via the media.

“No. I’m always aware of what’s happening. I don’t ever read it in the press. I know exactly what’s happening today. Right now,” he said.

“I’m very aware. I can’t tell you whether we have or haven’t got a property. But I’m aware of what that answer is.”

Nine next week unveils its 2023 Upfronts to media.

  1. Every time the block is on everyone complains “oh not again!” and “I hate this show” but yet it rates every night it’s on. I’m sorry to say but it’s the viewers who watch it (ones with ratings box) that’s keeping this show on air. If they al stopped watching it channel 9 would axe it and put on something else. We only have ourselves to blame

  2. I bet they say they biggest scandal to ever hit the block….. the edited drama puts me off the show. Let have a block where they redevelop houses that are affordable to the everyday person …..

    1. Agreed. This is the main reason why I haven’t watched in over 10 years. Who spends over $100-150k on a single bathroom? Money doesn’t grow on trees; the reality show needs a reality check.
I liked the very first season in Bondi Beach – amateur/first time home renovators, doing 90% of the renovation work (instead of tradies), whilst still doing their day jobs.
