He’s been tipped a number of times by the show’s own guessing panel, but would Jay Laga’aia ever appear on The Masked Singer?
It’s a question the actor, singer and presenter is asked quite a bit.
“The amount of times that I’ve had people say, ‘Before we finish this interview are you the Masked Singer?’
“I fuel the fire by simply saying, ‘I’m taking the fifth, I refuse to answer on the grounds I may incriminate myself,” he tells TV Tonight.
“It depends on circumstance, whether they get me on a fickle moment really.
“That show’s not so much of a problem but in general those talent shows I’m not really a huge fan of, because they’re always rigged. You have producers and the record companies going ‘I think that person there is commercially viable.'”
Laga’aia is currently fronting SBS series Lost for Words in which nine Australians address their own literacy and numeracy problems.
Lost for Words airs 7:30pm Wednesdays on SBS.
