Airdate: Kath & Kim: Our Effluent Life

Two anniversary specials with foxy ladies, screening on Seven at the end of the month.

Seven has now set a date for its two Kath & Kim anniversary specials, “Our Effluent Life” and “20 Preposterous Years” to screen in late November.

The specials, which include both new and retrospective footage, including rare material, were produced mid year after the original house in Patterson Lakes was demolished.

They will doubtless rate through the roof for Seven.

Kath & Kim: Our Effluent Life features freshly minted scenes with Kath, Kim, Sharon, Kel, Bretty, Marion, Prue and Trude, as well as some never-before-seen moments and too many bloopers and blunders to count on a washing glove-covered hand.

Coming along for the “roide of their loives” are Kylie Minogue, Michael Bublé, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Carson Kressley, Eric Bana, Stephen K. Amos, Matt Lucas, Mick Molloy, Stephen Page, Tony Martin, Richard E. Grant, Barry Humphries and a former Prime Minister.

This first part of the 20-year celebration also features a special tribute to Shane Warne, laugh-out-loud highlights from events such as the Logies and the AFL Grand Final – and oh em gee – an 18-year-old Chris Hemsworth pashes on with Kath and Kimmy.

The following night sees the foxy ladies joined by a myriad of friends and stars to take a look deep inside the nooks and unexplored crannies of the Kath & Kim universe in Kath & Kim: 20 Preposterous Years.

Along the way, there will be more rarely-seen vision and goofs from the archives and hilarious behind-the-scenes highlights, dug out from more than 1,000 tapes and 240 shoot days.

Kath & Kim: Our Effluent Life 7pm Sunday November 20 on Seven.
Kath & Kim: 20 Preposterous Years 7.30pm Monday, 21 November.

  1. Thank you Seven noice one, the bees knees, you’ve given me enough time to get a few cardonnays, baby cheeses and dippity bits in, time to run something up my flagpole, get a date, (we’ll a sticky date) and get tiddley so here we go Jose at last. It would be a crime against humanity to keep this locked up. I’ve had it up to pussy’s bow with some TV shows lately so I’m strapping myself in for the roide of my life👍

  2. There’s nothing new here, old footage re hashed.
Can 7 please enter the 21st century & provide some new content
20-40yr old shows & repeats are now there go to.

  3. Considering that the show’s been repeated to death since the last episode aired 15 years ago, does anybody really care for this? This looks more like a bonus feature that belongs on a home video release over something that should be airing in primetime.

Season 4 rated its absolute socks off on Seven with only one episode rating under 2 million. A new season with every episode rating over even 1 million would be yuuuuuge deal in 2023. Quite frankly, I don’t think the series was ever remarkable enough in quality to not have pumped out a steady stream of episodes over the years. If anything, the explosion of smartphones and social media would give Turner/Riley an abundance of material for new and un-ewe-sual stories given Kath and Kim’s penchant for the latest and tackiest fads. Kim the desperate OnlyFans model and Kath as the wannabe Instagram influencer? There’s another season in there somewhere.

      1. agreed but i won’t be holding my breath that there’s much new content in there, more of a ratings grab because they know fans will want to have a looky.

Or maybe its to test the waters for if there’s an audience for a new season? Any talk about that David? From what i remember 7 paid them an extraordinary amount of $ for season 4 but perhaps the cash is running out & its time to resurface.

          1. Magda didn’t mind reviving Sharon for the Google Pixel Pro phone though recently. My how money speaks volumes.😂
