Block home sells for $4.25m

Sharon & Ankur profit $170,000 following private sale to a surprising bidder.

One of two unsold homes from The Block has been sold, with Sharon & Ankur’s house selling for $4.25m.

The private sale gives the couple a profit of $170,000 over their $4.08m reserve -$1,000 more than Rachel & Ryan who sold at auction.

The home was bought by Adrian Portelli, who bid unsuccessfully for Omar & Oz’s home at auction and raised eyebrows when he failed to bid on other properties.

The house will be given away as a raffle prize.

“Well this is going to rustle some feathers … Someone’s winning one of The Block houses! A lot of Australia doubted the man however Adrian has gone and bought Ankur and Sharon’s house 3 and one of you lucky buggers is going to win it!” an Instagram post announced.

“Where are the nay-sayers now?”

Sharon and Ankur can add that to the Ford Everest car they’d already won during the season.

This leaves just one house unsold, renovated by Dylan & Jenny who passed in at $4.075m.

  1. These television homes are remembered, as well as the charity auctions in various estates across Australia. They are a happy memory and make the communities what they are. Even Channel Ten’s The Hot House from Bribie Island in 2004 is still remembered. These homes will be remembered for many years to come. So there’s value and reminiscence in that.

  2. “Where are the nay-sayers?”

They’re still here thinking it still looks fishy that he showed no interest in even attending the house 3 auction, and now that he is under national scrutiny he has bought this house after the fact knowing the reserve price and is giving it away in what will surely have some sort of tax advantage…

    1. This is why his charity helps kids, because adults like you have extremely judgemental opinions. Why is he not allowed to have a preference for a particular house? So what if he knows the reserve price now? That’s a sign of a very astute buyer. Remember, the contestants themselves pulled it from the auction at $4.075m, yet he still paid $4.25m. Is everything he does wrong in your eyes?
