Creek to Coast presenter wraps 23 year run

Original cast member Sally Jenyns calls time on Queensland travel show.

Creek to Coast presenter Sally Jenyns is departing the show after a 23 year run.

Jenyns, who has been with Seven’s Queensland travel show since its inception in 1999, resigned recently and will see her final episode go to air on November 19.

Her first TV appearance was cooking on Brownie’s Coastwatch in 1996.

She told the Courier Mail that led to an unexpected TV career.

“I couldn’t believe I was still there. There’s been ups and downs and not all the crew rode the wave. Here I still am but I wanted to leave while the show was still popular …. and not fade away,” she said.

“Life is in phases … and I feel very ready for another phase.”

Creek to Coast hosted by Scotty Hillier was briefly axed by Seven in late 2019 before fans and advertisers rallied to save the show. Jenyns has not indicated what’s next on her plate.

“I really don’t have any plans. But I think that’s a good way to be,” she said.

“I keep saying ‘less’; that’s what I’ll do, less.”

Creek to Coast 5:30pm Saturday on Seven Queensland.
