Axed Seven travel shows Creek to Coast, Queensland Weekender and The Great Day Out have been thrown a lifeline after a backlash to cost-cutting plans and sponsors
Creek to Coast will return next month along with an amalgamated version of Queensland Weekender and The Great Day Out, titled Weekender.
The Courier Mail reports Seven Queensland boss Ben Roberts-Smith reached out to sponsors, who agreed to provide the funding withdrawn by Seven. Scott Hillier, Laurel Edwards and Lee Carseldine are among those returning as presenters. Di Fitzgerald, who conceived the idea for The Great South East with Karen Hanna in 1997, is back on board as head of production.
New episodes will air on February 8 and 9. with Creek to Coast shifting to Saturdays at 5:30pm.

Good! I’m glad the network bosses listened to the viewers for once
Good to hear that these lifestyle shows are returning to Queensland. A shame that the other state based “Weekender” shows are still axed.
Agree…yes and yes.
