Airdate: Lucy Worsley: Agatha Christie Mystery Queen

Historian Lucy Worsley turns her powers of investigation onto author Agatha Christie.

Three part UK documentary Lucy Worsley: Agatha Christie Mystery Queen screens on ABC TV Plus in January.

Agatha Christie is the most successful novelist of all time, outsold only by Shakespeare and the Bible. Across 75 novels, plays and countless short stories, she revolutionised the detective genre for over a century – but the real woman behind the literary persona has long remained an enigma.

Over the course of three episodes, Historian Lucy Worsley turns her powers of investigation onto Agatha herself.

8:30pm Sunday January 8 on ABC TV Plus.

  1. Agree with you Cats, there’s been a lot of this type of documentary over recent years that I’m fairly confident I can skip over this one.

That said, I wonder just how much of this series will be devoted to her career prior to becoming with world’s pre-eminent whodunit author?? (blows people’s minds that)

  2. The subject of Agatha Christie has been covered numerous times over the years in various documentaries by various people such as David Suchet who obviously played Poirot, Richard E Grant, Alan Carr to name a few but her disappearance remains a mystery just like her novels so I doubt Lucy Worsley will get to the bottom of that mystery besides I like the fact she was a mystery of sorts herself.
