Axed: Moonhaven, Los Espookys, Legendary.

The axe falls on several titles in the USA...

A number of US titles have recently been axed.

Reality competition series Legendary has been cancelled by HBO Max after three seasons. The series took place within the New York ballroom scene, following different houses of vogue dancers as they competed in balls and fashion showcases in order to achieve “legendary” status. It screened in Australia on Foxtel / Binge.

It follows HBO Max dumping FBoy Island after two seasons, recently announced for an Australian series on Binge in 2023.

Los Espookys was also cancelled after two seasons. The series about a group of friends in Mexico City turning their love of horror movies into a business starred Ana Fabrega, Julio Torres, Cassandra Ciangherotti, Bernardo Velasco, and Fred Armisen. It also screened via Foxtel group.

Moonhaven will also not proceed with a second season with AMC+. Word of the cancellation comes four months after the dystonic sci-fi series was renewed for a second season. It follows AMC Networks announced sweeping cost-cutting measures. It screened in Australia on AMC+ starring Emma McDonald, Dominic Monaghan, Amara Karan, Ayelet Zurer and Joe Manganiello.

  1. Such a shame Moonhaven was cancelled 🙁

You don’t need to pay for AMC+ Australia , it’s moved to Stan now and still worth watching the first season as the storyline is mostly resolved by the final ep

  2. Not surprised about FBoy, how much humiliation can a young person expect to endure on national TV, for the sake of money. The American version was rude and crude. (see YouTube). Less than 5 minutes of Los Espookys did me in. Ridiculous.
