  1. A great result.

It’s just a shame that SBS On Demand is capped at 720p, because the streaming quality sucks, and I didn’t have the luxury of watching it on TV.

  2. Very good numbers for the FIFA World Cup. Many Soccer fans saw a minute of the World Cup live or on replay through various platforms. Fans can watch the replays of matches in full, mini-match, quick highlights and in Arabic.
SBS did an amazing job at broadcasting the World Cup for many years & should be very proud of what they have achieved so far. Back in mid-2010, they showed it in 3D (though I never had a 3DTV) as well as putting live matches on multichannels. Eight years later, SBS/Optus came in. However, this was marred by very slow buffering.
Commentary: SBS recruited some freelancers to its coverage including Bayliss and Owens. NIce to see soccer analyst Foz back on SBS after exting the network 2 years ago. He provided a lot of statistics during pre and post game. Martin Tyler has commentated soccer for more than 40 years, however his commentary has slowly declined since 2010. It was hard for me to concentrate on listening to his voice.

  3. I taped it and watched it at 7am, making sure I didn’t look at my phone or turn on any radio etc, and it was such an exciting match. In fact the whole tournament was great. Well done Martin Tyler and SBS, apart from not showing it in Full HD on streaming (which is why I taped it rather than watching on demand).
