Rosanna Mangiarelli & Will Goodings to present the Seven News Adelaide bulletin

It takes a duo to replace Jane Doyle at the desk, who departs soon.

Seven News has announced that Rosanna Mangiarelli and Will Goodings will present the Adelaide 6.00pm weekday bulletin following the retirement of Jane Doyle.

Rosanna Mangiarelli has more than 25 years’ experience, having joined the Seven Network in 2004 after stints at ABC Tasmania, ABC Asia Pacific and ABC Adelaide. From 2004 to 2007, she read the news for Sunrise. From 2007 to 2019, she presented the Today Tonight. She is a board director for the Sammy D Foundation and the Children’s Research Foundation and is an ambassador for a myriad of South Australian charities.

Rosanna said: “I look forward to sharing the role with Will. He’s an absolute professional and shares my passion for news. He also laughs at my jokes and puts up with my constant singing, so we’re off to a good start.

“South Aussies have for a long time trusted 7NEWS and have been deeply loyal. Our audience means everything to us and our honesty and commitment to SA will never fade,” she said.

Will Goodings joined 7NEWS Adelaide in September 2022, presenting the Friday to Sunday 6.00pm news bulletins with Rosanna.

The son of 7NEWS Adelaide legend, Graeme Goodings, he grew up around the Seven studios. He studied politics at Adelaide University and commenced working in radio at FIVEaa in 2007.

Will said: “I have woken up every morning for the past nine years talking to South Australians about South Australia. It is both an honour and a privilege to extend that duty into the evening presenting 7NEWS.

“This is a state with a rich history, a vibrant present, and an exciting future. There is nothing I’d rather do than continue to tell South Australian stories.

7NEWS has been the standard bearer for news excellence in Adelaide for a generation. Joining a team with that experience and getting to share the news desk with a talent like Rosanna is a pinch yourself opportunity,” he said.

Seven Network Director of News and Public Affairs, Craig McPherson, said: “7NEWS in Adelaide has had a stellar year in bringing home the news to South Australians and as we enter 2023, a new layer of excellence presents itself with Rosanna and Will.

“They know what they’re talking about and have a clear, natural way of telling it. South Australians will well and truly know the news with Rosanna and Will leading our team.

Director 7NEWS Adelaide, Chris Salter, said: “Rosanna and Will are the perfect fit. They have experience, integrity and care deeply about local issues and local people.

“Viewers already think of Rosanna as part of the family. She has been delivering our news for 20 years and is one of the most popular presenters in the country. Will is a sharp and proven newsman through and through. It’s in his blood.

“Behind them is the best television news team in the business: 22 years at number one doesn’t happen by accident,” he said.

“It’s a new chapter but some things never change. We look forward to continuing to provide South Australians with the most respected and successful news service from our Hindmarsh studios.”

Seven’s weekend bulletins on Saturday and Sunday at 6.00pm will remain with veteran presenter and reporter Mike Smithson when he takes over presenting duties from January 2023.

Rosanna and Will take the reins in January 2023 following Jane Doyle’s farewell from the news desk on Thursday, 15 December.
