Airdate: Quantum Leap

Double episode reboot sci-fi fun screens on Seven.

Tomorrow night Seven debuts the reboot of Quantum Leap, starring Raymond Lee as Dr. Ben Song.

The sci-fi, which debuted in the US in September with Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, and Ernie Hudson, has been renewed for a second season.

This screens in a double episode from 9:15pm.

Episode 1: July 13th 1985
A new team assembles to restart the Quantum Leap project; lead physicist Ben Song takes an unauthorized leap into 1985 as the team scrambles to figure out what happened and how to get him back.

Episode 2: Atlantis
Ben finds himself headed into orbit aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 1998; Addison confides to Ian about a discovery and finds herself at odds with Magic and Jenn.

  1. I enjoyed the original and would like to give this a go, but you can sure it won’t start on time and it’s already a late starting time thanks to the reality show it follows, so i’ll give it a miss.

I’m interested in this re-boot, the kind of second-tier TV programming after a main show, bur trying to find time with other shows on streaming and work, sport, recreation, etc. Sounds like a 7Plus binge coming up! I’m guessing this is from Seven’s new Universal output, got to utilise/get value on rights I guess or maybe contractually obligated to run it.

  3. These episodes are four months old and should have been fast tracked and aired at the same time as the US if Seven wanted to make a go of it here. In 2023, expecting viewers to wait four months for an Australian premiere of a show that launched in the US fall is unacceptable.
