Casting is underway for a new business show which appears to be called Let’s Get Down to Business….
“Are you an entrepreneur? Do you have a brilliant idea, innovative invention or a powerhouse product that you are excited to bring to market, but lack the funds or cash flow to truly get the business off the ground?” a casting notice asks.
“Successful business leaders armed with their own hard-earned cash are looking for small Australian businesses to invest in, on the new show ‘Let’s Get Down to Business.’ If you’re interested in pitching your product or idea in return for potential investment, we want to hear from you.”
The series is produced by Curio Pictures, part of Sony Pictures Television International Productions, and helmed by Jo Porter (Wentworth, Packed to the Rafters, Picnic at Hanging Rock, All Saints) with Rachel Gardner (The Stranger, Firebite, The End) as creative director.
Sony Pictures Television International Productions also owns the format rights to Dragon’s Den / Shark Tank which could be on the comeback trail.

This sounds just like a little Shark Tank reboot to me…
I hope there’s a point of difference as these shows have been done before. There’s also American Inventor, The Profit, Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch and more. It’s a popular format, but could lose viewers that are tired of the format if there’s no difference to the other shows.
As long as the format isn’t overdramatised like Shark Tank, and more like The Inventors, it may work.
I remember the reboot The New Inventors. It was a great show and I don’t know why it finished. It seemed to rate well. Adding some educational elements could help, as it can broaden the audience.
