In the US season of The Masked Singer a legendary showbiz name has been unveiled as The Gnome.
No names, but a hint… they are 97 years of age and sang When You’re Smiling.
Amazing.
Other incorrect guesses from the panel were Tony Bennett, Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro.

I’m late to this story, but what a moment!!
This man was a neighbour to Helen Reddy. He’s doing well for 97.
Oh Wow !!!!
Retirement’s a mug’s game, eh?
For whatever reason which I’m not aware of, The Masked Dancer was just axed in the UK, which doesn’t bode well for an Australian version.
For those who want to know the letter I refer to in my comments it is “ A Non Political Speech” by Rod Serling Circa 1964
He still looks bloody good for 97. Aussie version could only dream to get someone of that stature.
Any suggestions?
While a bit younger Ian Smith looks well enough to Don a heavy suit.
I think the Australian equivalent would be Barry Humphries.
I won’t say his name either,but he’s amazingly well preserved for a man of 97 years.Quite remarkable,
Typo….absolute star and I agree with Maev 100% and part of my childhood memories.
I watched this person a few days ago on YouTube reading the most beautiful letter to everyone from their home and it bought tears to my eyes and so did they. About star.
Legend!
