Marcia returns to Idol: promo

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia -plus 3 other judges next week on Seven.

Marcia Hines joins Harry Connick Jr, Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark during next week on Australian Idol.

Hines, who judged Idol from 2003 to 2009, is ready for more measured judging as the show begins to whittle down its top 50 singers.

“I’ve always thought constructive criticism is the way to go because that’s how I was taught coming up. The contestants are very brave because they are basically plucked from obscurity and placed in everybody’s living room. I know it’s not easy,” she says.

“The most important thing in anything you do is to be prepared. Be overly prepared. It can’t hurt. When your nerves take over and you can’t even think, if you are prepared, you will get through it.”

The pressure of performing also became very real when one singer, 19 year old Noah Cookson, fell to the floor after fainting.

Sunday – Tuesday on Seven.

      1. I admire Ms Hines and Mr Holden no question, Dicko and Kyle no way but does a reboot really need them, to us it’s got the same old same old all over it with a few tweaks here and there.

  1. Marcia Hines is Australian Idol as much as Gretel Killeen is Big Brother. Hopefully a lift in the numbers next week as nostalgia kicks into gear. Marcia should’ve been a permanent judge.
