Renewed: Blue Bloods

US police drama wins a 14th season.

US procedural Blue Bloods has been renewed for a 14th Season by CBS.

Blue Bloods has dominated Friday nights since its premiere and remained an important anchor for CBS’ winning lineup,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “Led by the outstanding Tom Selleck, and an incredible cast and creative team, viewers continue to embrace the Reagan’s, their law enforcement family, and the series’ dramatic storytelling. We can’t wait to pull a chair up to the Reagan family dinner table for another fantastic season.”

The series stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez and Vanessa Ray.

In the US the show remains the network’s most-watched program in the Friday lineup and ranks third among broadcast dramas with a whopping 9.54 million viewers recorded per episode. Live +35-day multi-platform viewing further raises that number to 11 million.

It screens in Australia on 10.

  1. The numbers made renewal highly likely, it’s just that after 14 years with a large cast negotiations can take some time. They actually only had 5 stars to negotiate with, the Reagans, Ramirez and Ray were upgraded to Also Staring when they were made Danny and Jamie’s permanent partners. The rest are all recurring characters, some for 14 years. This is how they keep the costs down, as it was made for Friday nights.
