Renewed: Blue Bloods

Tom Selleck & Donnie Wahlberg police drama gets a 13th season.

US police drama Blue Bloods has been renewed for a 13th season.

“America’s favorite first family of law enforcement is back for season 13,” said CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl. “The Reagans possess an incredible bond with audiences literally everywhere and on every platform. And in its 12th season, with over 250 episodes, Blue Bloods not only continues to dominate in the ratings but excels at an exceptionally high creative level.”

In the USA the drama is averaging 9.81 million viewers per episode (with seven days of delayed viewing), ranking fourth among all broadcast series.

The series stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez and Vanessa Ray.

Season 12 is currently screening in Australia on 10.

  1. Omg I tried watching the first few episodes when it first started and it was so dull with boring characters I’ve never watched since. I seriously don’t know how it continues.

  2. Blue Bloods keeps on doing what it’s always done on Fridays at 10pm, so renewal was not a surprise. The announcement was after most of CBS’s stalwarts had been renewed, so there were probably some negotiations involved in keeping the large cast together after 12 seasons. CBS’s “new” dramas have been FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: Sydney and a reboot of CSI.
