The Block appears to be embracing a 1950s theme this year judging by a letter sent to residents of Charming Street, Hampton East.
The letter from Nine’s promo department, which appeared on Reddit, advises of filming of a promo last Saturday using period cars, which are in keeping with the style of the original homes set to feature.
“We will bring various 7 x 1950’s cars to park on the street and period piece props and costumes,” it read, requesting locals not to park contemporary cars on the street for the duration.
With local neighbour concerns dating right back to Series One, Executive Producer Julian Cress has always been pro-active in communications with local residents including giving out his mobile number.
Nine is yet to advise a formal theme for 2023, and thus far had not even confirmed the location.
Sources confirm all protocols were followed on Saturday and the shoot went off without a hitch.

I think if I got a letter like that I’d be inviting everyone I knew with a car to park it outside my house.
