US press have been busily filing on high profile US dramas this week.
Variety reported The White Lotus is bound for Thailand for its third season.
The news comes despite earlier suggestions it was headed for Tokyo. In an interview Johnny Knoxville said, “Mike White is a very close friend of mine. He and I had been in Tokyo together. I think that’s where the next… oh, I’m not giving anything away. I might call him again as soon as this is over.”
Hawaii and Sicily seasons was filmed at Four Seasons resorts, of which four are located in Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle (Chiang Rai).
HBO declined to comment.
Meanwhile another HBO series House of the Dragon will trim from 10 to 8 episodes in its second season.
Production on S2 is about to commence in the UK and tipped for mid 2024 brodcast, with S3 having been “mapped out and might be greenlighted, with HBO seriously considering committing to moving ahead with scripts, casting and a production plan.”
