Oh my Carol Kane in a Star Trek franchise just after Amanda Plummer was in Star Trek: Picard, be still my beating heart, can’t believe two of my favourite female actors of all time are and have been in these, I feel like I’m going to squee like an excited child.
Just completed watching the 3 Star Trek Picard series, wow, by far the best of all the franchise , brilliant story lines, brilliant acting, amazing effects, a series that leaves you hanging for another more, alas, Patrick Stewart only committed to 3 series.
Without giving away spoilers, I wonder if after that last scene in Picard with a certain person popping up, if we’re going to get a spin-off series from this with new adventures from the new crew that was featured.
A Star Trek: Legacy spin-off to follow Star Trek: Picard was proposed by showrunner Terry Matalas, and it could begin an interesting revival of the franchise which Paramount+ plainly needs, however, due to Alex Kurtzman’s own creative ideas for phase 2 of his own Star Trek: Discovery universe, (Kurtzman has full creative control of Star Trek), Legacy may not get the green light to proceed. After the success of the final season of Picard (actually a TNG finale) it would be a shame if Terry Matalas plays no further part in writing future screenplays for the Star Trek franchise, but we shall have to wait and see, I believe Matalas was rumoured to be in negotiation to write more scripts for Star Trek shows but with the sense of uncertainty happening in Hollywood right now, with influencers reimagining a lot of favourite shows, frustrated Star Trek fans shouldn’t get their hopes up. Maybe Matalas is better off not to be involved, I like his work.
Best Star Trek captain ever
