10 tops entertainment with I’m a Celebrity finale

It was a tight race between three reality shows, but 10 pipped the competition on Sunday.

10’s reality show bowed out by winning its timeslot last night.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! grand finale scored 562,000 metro viewers, rising to 592,000 for the moment Liz Ellis was crowned as winner.

In comparison that was just below the premiere episode and last year’s finale.

It was a tight race last night with Farmer Wants a Wife at 550,000 and Lego Masters at 548,000. Grand Designs trailed at 441,000.

Later Midsomer Murders was 412,000 then 7News Spotlight (384,000) eclipsing 60 Minutes (357,000).

During the day Bluey was a star at 510,000 with another 125,000 watching a replay.

Seven network won Sunday with 28.4% then Nine 27.5%, 10 18.9%, ABC 18.0% and SBS 7.2%.

Seven News was #1 at 894,000 with The Latest at 244,000 then Born to Kill (84,000).

Nine News (763,000) was best for Nine. Kathleen Folbigg: Reasonable Doubt? (200,000)

The Sunday Project drew 289,000 / 195,000 for 10. 10 News First was 175,000 / 165,000. The Late Late Show with James Corden was 157,000 while The Last Last Late Late Show special averaged 100,000 across three channels.

ABC News pulled 535,000. Compass (186,000) and Close to Me (116,000) followed.

On SBS it was SBS World News (138,000 / 118,000), Lost Beasts (97,000), The Andes Tragedy: 50 Years Later (85,000) Elizabeth I and II: The Golden Queens (65,000).

In Total TV numbers last Sunday were:

Midsomer Murders: 858,000
Farmer Wants a Wife: 1.15m
Lego Masters: 957,000
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!: 790,000
NCIS: Hawaii: 289,000
Insiders: 542,000

Besides I’m a Celebrity the highlight for me was Seven News in Brisbane with the news item about the guy at My Tambourine offering weekend getaways to stay in shipping containers in coffins It was something else because you get a choice of coffin (with air-holes of course) that you get to try out before you die and the view itself is to die for too. He even has BBQ facilities. I have to commend Seven for that pearler because it outdid the story of the moose going into the picture theatre. I was not a fan of useless information but I’m now hooked on Seven News just to see if they can outdo themselves and what they come up with next. I’m lost for words what those poor news reporter go through in their job. 😂
