Airdate: Roland-Garros 2023

The 127th French Open begins at Roland Garros this Sunday night.

Stan Sport will broadcast the 127th French Open in 4K UHD live from Roland Garros from Sunday until Monday June 12.

Select matches will also air on 9GEM from 6.30pm AEST.

The great Novak Djokovic (world no.3) will be gunning for his record 23rd Grand Slam title, which would pull him away from Rafael Nadal (world no.15) with whom he is currently tied, but another Spanish superstar in the form of 20-year-old world number one Carlos Alcaraz will be hunting Grand Slam glory, after missing out on the Australian Open through injury. Daniil Medvedev (world no.2) will also be hoping to spoil the party and claim his second Grand Slam trophy.

Polish women’s world no.1 Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek returns to defend her crown, having won Roland-Garros in 2020 and 2022. She will face a stern test from rising Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka (world no.2), fresh off her 2023 Australian Open victory, and gritty American Jessica Pegula (world no.3).

The Australian contingent will be spearheaded by ‘The Demon’ Alex De Minaur (world no.19), who will be looking to better his fourth round finish in Melbourne Park earlier this year, and three-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist Ajla Tomljanovic (no.46), who returns from knee surgery which caused her to miss the past four months of tennis.

Other players flying the Aussie flag include Max Purcell (world no.67), Jason Kubler (world no.68), Jordan Thompson (world no.71), Alexei Popyrin (world no.82), Chris O’Connell (world no.85), plus the wildcards Thanasi Kokkinakis (world no.107) and Kimberly Birrell (world no.111)

For all the Roland-Garros headlines, talking points and highlights, watch Grand Slam Daily, available every morning of the tournament on Stan Sport, and hosted by Chris Stubbs with renowned Australian player, coach and commentator Wally Masur. They will cross regularly over the course of the tournament to Duncan McKenzie-McHarg on the ground in Paris, who will be chatting with some of the biggest names in world tennis.

Grand Slam Daily begins this Friday afternoon with a special preview edition of the show, as Chris and Wally analyse the key matchups heading into the tournament and share their predictions.

With every match streaming ad-free, live and on-demand on Stan Sport, and with four courts in stunning 4K UHD, tennis has never looked better.

  1. Stan do a brilliant job with the tennis, offering two durations of highlights for most matches and higher quality picture than free-to-air, but I wish they’d allow the option of just subscribing to Stan Sport without the rest of the content to make it a cheaper option.
