Every match live from France starting this Sunday night -select matches on 9GEM.

Stan Sport will screen every match the 129th Roland-Garros from this Sunday night ad-free, live, with four courts in 4K UHD.

Coverage of select matches will also air on 9GEM from 6.30pm AEST each night.

Rafael Nadal also enters the French Open for what may be the last time, after perhaps the most impressive record in all of tennis – 112 wins, 3 losses. World no.1 Novak Djokovic will be looking to extend his all-time record of Grand Slam wins to 24.

The Australian contingent will be spearheaded by world no.11 Alex de Minaur, who has been in career-best form in recent months. Three-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist Ajla Tomljanovic, who has received a wildcard while she climbs back up the rankings after a long-term knee injury sidelined her for much of 2023, will lead the women’s charge at the tournament.

The Aussie men are surging at the moment however, and for the first time since 1999, there will be at least nine other Australians contesting the men’s in singles draw at Roland-Garros, including the in-form Jordan Thompson [37], Alexei Popyrin [51] and Rinky Hijikata [78].

For all the Roland-Garros headlines, talking points and highlights, watch Grand Slam Daily, beginning next Monday and available every morning of the tournament on Stan Sport from 11:00am AEST. Hosted by Chris Stubbs with renowned Australian player, coach and commentator Wally Masur, the pair will cross regularly over the course of the tournament to Duncan McKenzie-McHarg on the ground in Paris, who will be chatting with some of the biggest names in world tennis.

7:00pm AEST Sunday on Stan Sport.

  1. 9 and other FTA network ran aggressive campaigns on how sports should be “free” and FTA networks should get first priority. Then for the rights they already have, they happily push the majority of the games to their own paid platforms.

If they’re really serious about ensuring free access to sports for every Australian, then why is most of the French open, Wimbledon and US Open on Stan Sports? Why only selected games on 9Gem? 10 did the same thing – bought rights to A-league, kept 10% of the games on 10Bold and rest are on Paramount+

FTA networks want first access to sporting rights to feed us crumbs on FTA TV and to push us to subscribe to their own paid platforms.

  2. Good old Foxtel went from having coverage of all the overseas Tennis Majors and god knows how many other tournaments to zilch. Another one to the toilet roll long list of events that have disappeared into thin air from good old Fox some Sports.

  3. Not a mention of Todd Woodbridge or Jelena Dokic?! Tell me it’s true!!!

What a two weeks it will be not having to suffer through them!!!

    1. Most of it is on Stan Sports. Anytime there are 2 matches on at the same time (till the semis) Stan Sports carries all games and 9Gem just the one.

      1. What more do you want? Every day covered and most of the session covered (Apart from the night session which is at 5am). All the big matches on FTA and then for the absolute tennis nuts they can pay for what court they want. Best of both worlds.

Roland Garros and the US Open wasn’t on FTA for a fair few years and the coverage was awful on Fox Sports (especially towards the end).

        I don’t get your whining.

        1. I’d agree Roland Garros and US Open were weird on Fox, but I’m highlighting the hypocrisy of FTA networks. They pushed out strong aggressive adverts of making sports “free” and any opportunity they get, they push sporting content to their own paid platforms.

I know Wimbledon or RG isn’t on anti-siphonic list so they can do what they want. But neither on the list was international cricket involving Australia outside Australia. Hence, Amazon Prime got the rights to ICC tournaments. Have you noticed how many times these FTA providers have made that to be an issue?

They can stream all games on 9Now for free, so that if Nadal is playing at the same time as De Minaur, we don’t get one on the telly and constant 10 minute reminders to subscribe to Stan Sports to watch the other. This isn’t “completely free” rather it is selectively so.

          1. Again, the big matches will be on FTA. Coverage is great for tennis fans. that’s all I giving a flying hoot about

    1. If it’s not on the anti-siphoning list (only the Aus Open and selected Davis Cup games are), then it’s fair game for a subscription service to pick up the rights for sporting events. In any case, the anti-siphoning list does not apply to Stan Sport as they are not a pay tv broadcaster anyway.

And as David mentioned “Coverage of select matches will also air on 9GEM from 6.30pm AEST each night”
