Auditions: MasterChef Australia 2024

Casting hunt begins for next best amateur cooks for 2024 series.

Casting is now formally underway for MasterChef Australia 2024.

“We’re seeking people of all backgrounds and from locations right around Australia,” says a casting notice.

“If you have a passion for food and have always dreamed of cooking in the MasterChef kitchen, now is your chance!”

Applicants must be aged 18 years or above by Monday 16th October 2023, an Australian citizen or permanent resident and be amateur cooks. Applicants with previous professional or semi-professional kitchen experience will not be eligible. You also cannot have any formal tertiary or other professional cooking qualifications acquired in the last 10 years.

Separately, 10 has indicated casting decisions on Jock Zonfrillo’s replacement will not be considered until later this year.

  1. I’d be very surprised if Melissa and Andy return as judges. I’m really surprised they’re going ahead with a new season and disappointed in them.

    1. I mean, that is a little judgemental of you to be disappointed in Melissa & Andy

      People greave differently. I could see how they believe that the best way to honour a friend is to carry the torch and to continue mentoring chefs through the MasterChef contest, as they have done with their friend.

      I don’t think they’ve even made a offical announcement on their participation (or lack of) for future MasterChef shows – but I think they should be respected for whatever they chose to do at the difficult time.

      1. I didn’t mean I was disappointed in the judges I was disappointed in the show itself. If you read my post properly. No one knows if they’re returning so I wasn’t being judgmental at all.
