Fallen AFL footballer Ben Cousins has landed a role as Sports Presenter on Seven News morning bulletin in Perth.
Ray Kuka, News Director of Seven Network in Perth, told PerthNow, “You can see why Cousins was a footy star. He’s of course got natural ability, but his work ethic is incredibly impressive.”
Cousins is expected to continue to appear three days a week, along with his regular primetime AFL breakdown segment with Adrian Barich on Thursdays, with potentially more appearances.
In 2020, Cousins spoke about life behind bars and his drug past in a Seven documentary, Ben Cousins: Coming Clean.

Isn’t it disgraceful that a man who has associated with crime figures, been jailed for drugs and stalking, broken restraining orders, put lives in danger (and more) is tidied up in a suit and put on TV just because he used to play AFL football.
Take the name and sport away, and tell me if *any* other person with that rapsheet would be employed let alone paraded on your TV?
I hope he does well. For his first appearance, given all the likely publicity, I probably would have made sure his tie was straight at least but that’s just me.
