Sam Armytage hits back over “feud” clickbait stories

After clickbait articles over her absence from Kochie's lunch, Sam Armytage confirms she was attending a funeral.

Farmer Wants a Wife presenter Sam Armytage has hit back at Daily Mail after it published a story speculating about her absence from a celebratory lunch following David Koch’s final Sunrise show.

Armytage appeared on Sunrise to pay tribute to Koch, congratulating him on his 21 years as anchor, but did not attend a lunch on Friday with other network talent.

The article was headlined “Sure there’s no feud? Samantha noticeably skips David Koch’s farewell lunch as the departing Sunrise host is joined by Natalie Barr, Mel Doyle and Larry Emdur for the star studded send off.”

But Armytage took to Instagram to set the record straight.

“Nasty, WRONG articles continue from the Daily Mail, Australia,” she wrote.

“Rich & I had to attend a funeral yesterday after I appeared on Sunrise. I was invited to Kochie’s farewell lunch and had to politely decline. Usually I ignore the Daily Mail nonsense, (& I realise posting like this only gives them oxygen) but these multiple, daily attacks are absurd.

“I could have told them my plans, if only they’d asked 🤪 (not that it’s any of their business!) then perhaps they wouldn’t have to make things up. But perhaps that wouldn’t suit their narrative🤔”
