“People do a double take”: Shelley Craft, real estate agent.

In her other job, when she isn't working on The Block, Shelley Craft is a working real estate agent.

The Block co-host Shelley Craft admits to getting some odd looks from buyers when selling real estate in Byron Bay, when she isn’t working on the Nine series.

“I’ve always loved real estate. I’ve bought and traded and sold since I was about 23, it is a hobby of mine. My husband owns a real estate agency in Byron Bay, so I run a lot of the copy, do some really bad socials because I hate socials! I attempt to help him out with that,” she said.

“It’s a bit weird having me at Opens because people double take. They’re not quite sure. But I’m happy to take anyone on a tour of any house.

“I don’t think negotiations would be my strong point just because people think they know who I am. But there is nothing I love more than building and renovating and real estate beside my children.”

Asked how she views this year’s completed homes in Hampton East she added, “I think what we have this time is five very unique homes. It’s tough when you have a lot of the same sponsors every year and home fashion doesn’t turn over as fast as The Block does. But we are really excited to introduce new innovation, new products, new ideas that all homeowners and renovators throughout Australia can take on board.

“So The Block really is also a wonderful showcase of new products that are available on the market.”
