Nine pet series is now filming with a second season with RSPCA Queensland & QVS / Pet Emergency.

Animal series For the Love of Pets has been renewed by Nine and is now filming a second season in Queensland.

The 8 part series produced by Context Media, will follow a cast of characters at RSPCA Qld and QVS / Pet Emergency from vets performing life changing surgeries to the re-homing of animals each year.

RSPCA Queensland spokesperson Emma Lagoon says, “As a predominately community funded charity, our compassionate supporters help our dedicated staff and volunteers change lives every day. Our RSPCA team are driven to do everything they can to ensure the animals of Queensland get the second chances they truly deserve.

“It’s an honour to be able to showcase their stories and encourage animal lovers to support the incredible work that goes on behind the scenes at the RSPCA. We can’t wait to showcase our amazing animals and hope to inspire others to consider adopting their next animal companion and support the great work our teams do in any way they can.”

Dr. Rebekah Donaldson, of QVS / Pet Emergency, said, “Seeking emergency care for your sick pet is a stressful and emotional time. We are grateful to be able to share the amazing work of our vets, nurses and support team members across our emergency and specialist departments. Being able to highlight the cutting-edge care and compassion afforded to the animals in our care is a privilege. We hope sharing this journey helps ease the natural worry of admitting a beloved pet into hospital whilst identifying the advanced ways we can aid them on their path to recovery.”

Executive producer Peter Jenetsky said, “Both are fantastic production partners who have opened the doors to their organisations to allow our cameras to capture the high-level drama of animal emergencies in real time, to the heart-warming journeys of homeless animals into the loving arms of a new family. Our global audience will laugh, cry, and be endlessly fascinated by the work of the wonderfully dedicated and passionate group of caring veterinary, rescue and welfare professionals who each and every day strive to transform and save the lives of animals in need.”

Escapade Media will again handle international distribution and sales. Managing director, Natalie Lawley, said, “Escapade has worked strategically across this brand and looks forward to announcing prime time sales shortly. The continuation of the brand supports our believe that For the Love of Pets has a very strong point of difference within the marketplace, along with the excellent production values, results in a very strong offering globally.”

Situated halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, RSPCA’s sprawling ‘Wacol’ campus is one of the most significant animal welfare facilities in the southern hemisphere. Housing an Adoption Centre, 24/7 Hospital for domestic and wildlife animals and a 24-hour call centre co-ordinating animal rescues, Wacol is the nerve centre for operations across Queensland, giving For the Love of Pets audiences an unparalleled, behind the scenes peek into the organisation’s incredible work caring for over 45,000 animals each year.

Closer to the city, Queensland Veterinary Services, a state-of-the-art specialty surgery and emergency hospital in Brisbane, tackles a never-ending flow of animals in need through their doors. From injured dogs to puppies raiding rubbish bins, newborn kittens fighting for their life, to rescued and injured wildlife, the vets and nurses at QVS Pet Emergency contend with it all. Using highly advanced medical equipment, the team is equipped to handle the most delicate and complex medical procedures that our beloved pets face.
