CBS elevates NCIS: Sydney to key slot

US network gives Aussie spin-off a prize broadcast slot during US strikes.

NCIS: Sydney looks to have had a win due to the Writer’s and SAG-AFTRA strikes in the USA.

Already announced as being part of CBS’ Fall schedule, now the show is getting a further promotion.

Originally, NCIS: Sydney was supposed to follow an NCIS repeat on Mondays and air in NCIS: Hawaii‘s Monday 10pm slot.

But it will now run Tuesdays at 8pm where NCIS has run for much of its 18 seasons.

That also means NCIS: Sydney will not have to face NFL football on Monday.

The Aussie-made series from Endemol Shine is one of the few original scripted series in Fall schedules this season, due to the strikes.

The world premiere will be in Australia on Paramount+ on Friday, 10 November and on CBS the following Tuesday.

Plans for Free to Air on 10 are yet to be announced.

  1. Great news!

Now just waiting to know when the long awaited arrival of season 21 of law and order will be shown on a network in Australia…so sad it’s taking so long!

  2. It’s going to miss Fall it doesn’t start till November. and gives CBS 8 episodes till New Year, when they have pencilled in returing shows. Distribution was going to be globally Paramount+ exclusively, but it’s moved to CBS in the US. Ten have aired North Shore, Riptide, Heat, repeats of 5 Bedrooms and Neigbours, so won’t need drama points. It may not air on Ten. If it does it the earliest would be next Winter.

    1. It still premieres in Fall. Agree it won’t screen this year on 10, but the network did announce it would “will launch exclusively on Paramount+ and Network 10 in Australia” so important to observe the change.
