Dick Van Dyke, 97, guest stars in Days of Our Lives.

Legendary US entertainer Dick Van Dyke, has made his debut in soap, with a guest appearance in Days of Our Lives.

Van Dyke, 97, plays a “mystery man with amnesia” opposite stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn.

Van Dyke’s wife, makeup artist Arlene Silver, also plays a very tolerant police officer.

Longtime pal Carol Burnett previously sent Van Dyke some sage words of advice following her guest appearance on All My Children. “Make sure you know all your lines because they don’t do retakes,” she said.
