Iskhandar Razak appointed ABC News Vic weekend presenter

ABC journalist Iskhandar Razak has been appointed as Weekend Presenter on ABC News Victoria’s weekend edition.

He replaces Mary Gearin, who recently departed after some 3 decades with the broadcaster.

Razak has been a journalist for 15 years. He has worked for the ABC in South Australia, the Northern Territory, and
since 2016 in the Melbourne newsroom as a reporter, presenter and producer He has also been a fill-in presenter on News Breakfast, 774 ABC local radio and The World.

“Victoria is an amazing place and Victorians are amazing people,” he said. “I really love our audience and our community.

“I’m truly honoured to be given this opportunity. It is a tremendous privilege and responsibility.”

ABC News Director Justin Stevens said, “Iskhandar is an experienced journalist and an accomplished newsreader. We’re excited to see him step into this role and we know he will continue to excel.”

  1. I’ve seen Iskhandar around the traps a bit, particularly when he’s filing from William St. I don’t watch ABC’s flagship bulletin often, depends how busy work gets, but it’s always on during the day. Shocked – in a delighted way — he’s found his way to the big chair. Go well lad.
