The best Thai places in Melbourne, plus Mamma Mia and a visit to Helensvale and Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast.

Postcards this Sunday welcomes guest host, Sofia Levin who takes viewers to the best Thai places in Melbourne.

Shane Delia is in Richmond (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). He veers off Bridge Road onto Gleadell Street, which transforms into a fresh food market every Saturday morning. The Gleadell Street Market is marking its 150th year, and to celebrate Shane catches up with the president of the Richmond and Burnley Historical Society, David Langdon, to learn more about its heritage. He also meets stallholder Maroun Tannous who has been passionately serving customers at the market each week.

Guest presenter and food journalist Sofia Levin explores Melbourne’s Thai food scene (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She starts her day in West Melbourne at Rosyln Thai Cafe, which opened recently and has quickly become an exciting new brunch spot for Melburnians. Then, in Bourke Street she visits Thai Tide, a restaurant specialising in regional Thai food. She chats to manager, Pink, while trying the ant larvae soup, and finishes off her exploration of Thai food with some traditional street food at Khaosan Lane.

Meanwhile, Madeline Spark is up in Helensvale and Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, showing off Mater’s latest prize home (Bundjalung Country). But before that, she takes viewers to a perfect brunch spot for smashed avocado overlooking the marina in Sanctuary Cove: the Little Cali Kitchen and Bar. From there she takes a boat ride to the super home up for grabs along with a boat, a Tesla and jet skis in Mater’s Christmas prize package. Madeline’s day ends with a long lunch at Kokomo Kitchen and Bar, a 10-minute drive from the prize home.

And, we find Livinia Nixon backstage at the Princess Theatre in the CBD (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) with the cast of Mamma Mia! The Musical. She meets Sarah Krndija who plays Sophie Sheridan and Lewis Francis who plays Sky, as well as other members of the cast, and hears all about the show. She then heads to Kafeneion, a new Greek restaurant on Bourke Street, where owner Stavros Konis sets her up for a traditional Greek feast.

5.30pm Sunday on Nine (Melb) and 9Now.
