Prison Break series in development

Don't expect any Michael Scofield & Lincoln Burrows in a new-look series...

Prison Break is getting another outing, according to US reports, but won’t centre around the original characters of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell).

A new series is being developed by Hulu, Variety reports.

Mayans M.C. co-creator and showrunner Elgin James is writing the show, which is in early stages of development.

Prison Break originally ran for four series between 2005 and 2009, before returning for a (pretty dreadful) fifth run in 2017 with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) & Lincoln Burrows (Purcell).

A sixth season has long been rumoured with Dominic Purcell in 2020 stating, “Rumor number 3, Will season pb 6 happen. Yes.”

  1. I don’t remember the last season but I would watch another.

The concept is fine for a reboot. Most writing and direction at the moment in Hollywood is pretty bad so I hold little hope.

  2. I wouldn’t call the 5th season ‘pretty dreadful’. Watch it again. It was ok and had its good moments as well and made a story relevant of what was going on in the world.
