Vale: Bridget Munro

Colleagues have paid tribute to SBS World News senior producer Bridget Munro who died suddenly.

SBS World News senior producer Bridget Munro has died suddenly.

Husband, SBS presenter Adrian Arciuli, posted the devastating news on social media.

“At 3.50pm on Wednesday, November 22nd our lives changed forever as our darling Bridgie tragically passed away unexpectedly following a massive seizure,” he wrote.

“It’s hard to fathom that this was the last photo I would take of my soulmate only 10 days ago, as we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and our first outing alone since Margot was born in April. We felt like 17-year-old kids sneaking out for a date.

“Fittingly, this picture displays all of her amazing qualities that we all came to love.

“Her beauty, her bubbling personality, her warmth, her spirit, her compassion and so many other things that have made her one of the best people on this planet.

“Our lives will never be the same and our hearts have shattered into a million pieces.

“While mine and so many other hearts will have a massive hole in it for the rest of our lives, day by day, we will celebrate you and honour your legacy by making sure we raise our beautiful girls Gracie and Margot to be just like their amazing Mummy.

“My darling Bridge, I will love you forever.”

Prior to joining SBS World News in July 2017, Ms Munro was a producer at SKY News and undertook an internship at both Nine News and 10 News.

Colleagues also paid tribute online.

Lucy Zelic said, “There are no words that will ever be enough to epitomise how incredible Bridget Munro was and how horribly unfair this all is. She was a loving mother & wife, an extraordinary professional and beautiful soul. Our hearts are broken, but forever honoured for having known you, B”

“I’m so sorry. Such a beautiful spirit,” The Age state politics editor Annika Smethurst wrote.

“Such incredible shock and sadness as we mourn the loss of a much loved and respected friend and colleague. Thinking of you all @Adrian_Arciuli during this most difficult time,” SBS News chief international correspondent, Brett Mason, said.

“We were so lucky at SKY to have her with us in Sydney and Canberra for the time we did,” SKY News Australia deputy head of news, Thomas O’Brien, wrote.
