Veteran actor, director, writer Simon Elrahi, best known for Last King of the Cross and The Combination: Redemption has died.

A graduate from The Actors Centre and AFTRS he has been working as an Actor, Writer, Director, Producer and Editor since 1994 performing in various roles in film, television and theatre.

He recently appeared as Jahaan Mouawad in C*A*U*G*H*T whie in Last King of the Cross he played Peter ‘PK’ Kay and as Mahmoud in The Combination: Redemption.

Other recent credits included Year Of, The Stranger, Total Control, and he will be seen in upcoming ABC drama House of Gods.

He also appeared in Harrow, Fighting Season, Here Come the Habibs, Deep Water, Australia Day, Rake, Janet King, Winter, Home & Away, Murder Call, Heartbreak High and Water Rats.

As a writer, he has developed several feature films, all at various stages of development “Joseph’s Lebanese Roll” had two rounds of development funding from the New South Wales Film and Television Office. It was twice short-listed for Screen Australia’s prestigious Aurora program, short-listed for Project Greenlight’s competition and Indi-visions project lab and script development programs. It was also a finalist at the Los Angeles based BlueCat screenplay competition. In 2019, it was semi-finalist at the Australia Independent Film Awards.

In 2021 both features “Understanding Anatomy” and “Trapped” were semi-finalist at the Boston Screenplay Awards.

On social media Kriv Stenders said, “Utterly shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Simon Elrahi. Simon was a beautiful actor who I had the pleasure and privilege of working with on a number of occasions over the years. I’m just gutted that I will never get the chance to collaborate with him again. Simon … you were a wonderful soul who was loved and will be missed by so many.”
