  1. This is on my 2024 Bingo Card for a 2024 flop. If you’re going to be bold with programming in summer give viewers something totally different and not a rehash of an old format.

  2. I was watching Ch 10 & 13 last night, pretty sure every ad break there were many ads for this drivel! Who on earth makes decisions to remake stuff? It will last a few shows, then get bumped. Until then we have to put up with the ridiculous ads ad nauseum! No thanks!

  3. While channel surfing I came across the flashy, glitzy promo for Gladiators. They’ve spent a lot of money on these so it remains to be seen if the show lives up to the promos.

  4. This failed when Seven rebooted it, why would it succeed on Ten? They are clearly desperate for content and have no new ideas. I get that familiar formats are all the rage for traditional broadcasters in the streaming era but seriously. If the rapid decline of Ninja Warrior failed to teach FTA networks about the dwindling appeal of competition sports programs I don’t know if they’re capable of learning.

  5. Up against the Aus Open? Ouch! When will the networks learn, even recent years (I seem to recall a MKR launch and even Fassnidge publicly criticising the move) leads to failure. Sure, years ago when it was first tried, I’m A Celeb and BBL had occasional success, but both since plummeted and in the worst FTA environment ever, you want best exposure and clean air (that is away from summer holidays and major sport events). Just imagine if Barty and Kyrgios were there and did well.

    1. Especially with a format more likely to appeal to a sports fan unlike a dating show for example.

This isn’t a format that will suit multiple episodes a week either. Would be better airing weekly on Sundays when Survivor returns three nights a week.

  6. With Barty retired and Kyrgios injured Seven and Ten were planning to go up against the AO. That will work better for H & A and cricket. The AO announced they are starting a day earlier on 7th, so Ten moved Gladiator to the 8th. They have now moved it to 2nd week of the AO, before the finals.

  7. We were looking forward to watching this but the ads for it make it look so cheesy with the god like way they are being portrayed. We loved the original but will see how this goes though.

  8. I’ve moved in to my new house over the past week so I’ve been madly putting new furniture together and moving things around as I make it a home… during this time I’ve had the TV on in the background for background noise, tuned to Channel 10. I cannot believe that literally every commercial… and I mean literally every commercial break has a Gladiators ad. I’m astonished tbh. I was looking forward to the show, but this has stripped the anticipation and my willingness to watch clean away… I can’t believe how over it I am already. How does anyone watch FTA TV anymore? Sitting through this torture every commercial break would drive me insane.

    1. Lucky you didn’t have ch7 on, every ad break is the return of Home and Away and fake missing persons ads for Home and Away, started the day after the season finale aaaaaah, sick of seeing the ads and it’s only early December.

    2. I hear you! I’ve been watching the Bachelors and the start of every add break is an add for Gladiators. I hate being bashed with an advert for the same program over and over. I can only fight back by voting with my remote, so there is no way i’ll be watching Gladiators after the advertising abuse I’ve taken!
