WIN News appoints Network Sports Presenter

Jared Constable to lead WIN News coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in July.

WIN News reporter Jared Constable was this week announced as Network Sport presenter, taking up the role since Monday January 8th.

After graduating from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Journalism, he began his career  in the WIN News Riverina & MIA newsroom in 2014. After a year at FOX Sports, he returned to WIN in 2019 as Chief of Staff for two years before returning to on-air duties.

As WIN News Network Sports Presenter, he will be leading the coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in July.

WIN’s Director of News Stella Lauri said, “Jared’s appointment rounds out his extraordinary climb through WIN’s news ranks. 2024 marks a decade since that first internship and commencing his role as Sports Presenter. He will work alongside a committed team of journalists, ensuring WIN News has the best coverage of regional sport, in the lead up to and during the Olympics.”

Constable said: “I’m really excited about the opportunity to bring the sports news to so many lounge rooms across regional and rural Australia each weeknight as part of the WIN News team. And I couldn’t be happier that my new appointment is in an Olympics year, surely the highlight of any sports journalist’s career.”

  1. I think he’s referring to regional news pieces on families and associates of Olympians locally, as they have covered in the past. I doubt very much that he will be ‘our man at the Olympics’.

    1. Yes it seems an odd announcement. What place does regional news serve on an international sports event, except for coverage of the performances of local athletes perhaps?

      1. “coverage of the performances of local athletes perhaps?”. As WIN has covered in the past, since most of our Olympic athletes come from regional areas.
