Airdate: Ready Steady Cook

Celebrity chefs and everyday Aussie home cooks team up in the revived 10 cooking competition.

Effervescent Miguel Maestre hosts new 10 series Ready Steady Cook from early March.

Returning to 10 after more than a decade the rebooted cooking show showcases some of the country’s best chefs, who will join forces with everyday Aussie home cooks, to prepare delicious dishes using only five ingredients (and pantry supplies).

The team who takes out the win after the strict 20 minute cook time, will be decided by the live studio audience. In the final round, our two chefs will battle head-to-head in the ‘Chef’s Challenge,’ where they will push culinary boundaries in a 10-minute fast round.

Joining Capsicum and Tomato teams are Adriano Zumbo, Hayden Quinn, Anna Polyviou, Khanh Ong, Mindy Woods, Sarah Todd, Sergio Perera, Diana Chan, Alastair McLeod, Mike Reid, Adam D’Sylva and Alice Zaslavsky.

In addition, some of Australia’s favourite celebrities will also join in on the cooking spectacular across a number of special episodes.

Ready Steady Cook is produced by Endemol Shine Australia.

7:30pm Friday March 8 on 10.

  1. I’m inclined to watch – I enjoy Miguel and there’s nothing else on Fridays. This might be perfect on Friday nights in before settling to something on streaming.

  2. I thought this would have made more sense as daytime filler due to the void that Studio 10 left in its wake.

Moving a daytime show to primetime typically doesn’t end well, but Ten should be content with it if their expectations are realistic.

    1. Peter Everett wasn’t the original host. I’m so old I remember that, watching those daytime eps all those years ago. Gary, George (back when he still had hair!), Manu, Alastair McLeod, Darren Simpson (RIP), Damien Heads, Janelle Bloom, Adrian Richardson, even Miguel himself, all featured as chefs. Especially loved the eps when Damien and Manu would play it up as opposing team captains.

I’ll watch this, subtitles firmly on!
