We need a good news story right now, so over to Better Date than Never participants Olivia, 24, and Zach, 23, who became engaged during a Taylor Swift concert in Melbourne.
News.com.au reports during Swift’s Love Story, Zach got down on one knee and asked Olivia to marry him as the crowd around them cheered in celebration.
In season one, viewers watched as Olivia and Zach quickly fell for one another – bonding over their mutual love of Taylor Swift on their very first date.
“The concert started, and we were dancing and having a good time, and then it was getting to Love Story and Zach’s family members pushed back some chairs,” Olivia said.
“I thought they were making us a dance floor. I had a dance, a bit of a boogie, and I turned back around and he was on his knee proposing to me.
“I didn’t know what to feel. I’m so happy. It was honestly really, really special.
“He timed it very well. And I even said ‘Yes’ on time [with the music].”
The ABC series by Northern Pictures follows a diverse group of single people taking their first steps into the dating world. Season 2 is now screening.
Olivia added, “… our first dance will be to Love Story.”
