Giveaway: The Box

Up for grabs are 2 x DVDs of 1975 feature film The Box.

Up for grabs this week are 2 x DVDs of 1975 feature film The Box, a spin-off of the racy TV classic.

The Box was produced as a series by Crawford Productions for network 0-10 from 1974 – 1977, set in a fictional Melbourne television station.

Like its predecessor Number 96, this was a soap full of wild storylines, nudity and adult themes. The cast included George Mallaby, Barrie Barkla, Ken James, Paul Karo, Judy Nunn, Briony Behets, Graeme Blundell and more -the film also features Graham Kennedy.

Updated: Crawfords has released the DVD with 8 lobby cards and audio commentary by historian Andrew Mercado. There are also Collector Editions which include a waybill poster and original press kit but these numbers are limited and selling fast.

Entry details are in this Friday’s subscriber newsletter.

It’s the feature film spin off from the TV series The Box, about the daily life and crises at television station UCV-12. In financial difficulty the channel is attempting to produce a feature film version of its television series “Manhunt”, while an officious efficiency expert investigates the running of the station causing the staff to fear for their jobs. The staff make desperate attempts to impress, but none work, especially in relation to the feature film Manhunt. You won’t believe what comes off in the movie of The Box.
