  1. I’ve watched several documentary on the Beach Boys and read the book The Real Beachboy..Dennis Wilson was facilitated with Charles Manson…Wilson called him The Wizard…but Mansion being facilitated with himself thought he was a musician and wrote and recorded several songs in Wilson’s studio but were never published…he eventually had them and several of his members evicted after destroying 2 cars and he received a bullet with a treating note..but Wilson was also subjected to treating phone calls from the Manson family telling him he would be next…when he drowned…he was buried at sea but at the time only veterans were allowed a sea burial without being cremated then Ronald Reagan stepped in and agreed..a sad ending for a brilliant song writer and musician.

  2. Several years ago, SBS had a documentary on the Beach Boys.

To my surprise the person depicted as the bassist in the top picture did not play bass in the iconic Beach Boys albums: Summer Days and Summer Nights. Think of the well-known well known riff in the tune California Girls from the Pet Sounds album.

It was session musician Carol Kaye.

She did the bass lines for many arists and groups.

    Thank you
