  1. The 1% Club UK episode was not good.

The host seemed rushed and occasionally disinterested, the bizarre use of people’s surnames was a source to joke about non-conventional English surnames.

Badly directed (after one question they didn’t even bother to show how many contestants were eliminated).

Why Channel 7 started with the pilot episode (filmed under covid conditions) which eliminated many contestants quickly because they didn’t understand the game is also baffling. Have they optimistically bought every episode?

And they played all the end credits (why can’t they do this with the Australian edition)?

    1. The reality is that audiences are amused by different things and comedy doesn’t always travel well. For me, Lee Mack as host is definitely a huge asset to the UK version of this show. The format itself is essentially a reworking of an old quiz show (Everybody’s Equal, later rebranded as Whittle), but requires the banter to carry it in a prime time slot.

Surely The 1% Club UK was second in entertainment, beaten by Home and Away at 794,000?

    2. Lee Mack is so much funnier than the australian host. The australian host comes across rude sometime when he tries to make jokes with the contestants. The 1 per cent in australian would be better with a new host

  2. Flicked over to food stars during the ad break of I’m a celeb & flicked back. It’s a combination of the apprentice and masterchef. I think I’ll stick with I’m a celeb.
