
Aussies win at 2024 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards
Wins in New York for The Dark Emu Story, Old People's Home for Teenagers, The Summit, The Mission, Australia's Wild Odyssey.

Blackfella Films, Endemol Shine Australia, Northern Pictures, Wild Pacific Media, Marc Fennell, ABC, SBS and Nine were all multiple winners at the 2024 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
Blackfella Films won three awards, and was a further finalist, for shows including First Weapons and The Dark Emu Story.
Endemol Shine Australia won a Gold award for Old People’s Home for Teenagers for the second year running, while The Summit won a Silver award.
Entries were submitted from 5 continents and selected by the Grand Jury of over 300 industry professionals from around the globe.

Meanwhile fictional podcast, Diversity Work, which reveals the personal costs behind the push for more diversity in television, has won the Silver Trophy in Innovation at the New York Festivals Radio Awards and is also a Webby Award nominee in the Podcast – Scripted category.
The a 5×30-minute series produced and directed by Pearl Tan, invites you into a television writers’ room embroiled in a social media storm. When a television network is accused of racism, a diverse group of writers is quickly brought together and asked to come up with an idea that “ticks all the diversity boxes” at once. The writers soon realise they are being used for their diverse identities and are forced to deal with the personal and professional consequences.
ABC News podcast series Expanse: From the Dead won a Silver award in the History category at the NY Festivals Radio Awards.
Executive Producer and Manager of Audio Strategy for ABC News Blythe Moore said: “We’re incredibly grateful to the last remaining survivor of this extraordinary event in Australia’s history, Mick Doleman, for trusting us to share his story. This award demonstrates that powerful regional journalism can resonate with national and international audiences”.
