CBS has renewed S.W.A.T. for an eighth despite previously announcing its seventh season would be its last.

It was previously axed after six seasons, then given a reprieve and a seventh season.

Now it is headed for an eighth.

  1. So S.W.A.T. has now been uncancelled twice! An article I read said that Russell and Johnson were cut from the regular cast as part of the renewal. It demonstrates the lengths Hollywood will go to avoid risking a new idea these days.

    1. The renewal for season 7 was a 13 episode goodbye season. In that Russell appeared in 1 episode to say bye, Johnson was in 2 to say bye.

This new renewal is for season 8 and I think it has 22 episodes. There could be a chance that Russell joins again with the way he was written out, Johnson would be the same but more difficult
